Neuromuscular Therapy NMT uses specific scientific massage techniques to identify painful trigger points that refer pain. NMT uses pressure to release the trigger point along with flexibility stretching, and positional release to achieve Neuromuscular Reeducation. The outcome of NMT is a decrease in hypertension and pain in muscle tissue and an increase in function: strength, tone, circulation and joint mobility.
Neuromuscular Therapy can be used as a complete treatment plan and is usually integrated with other forms of bodywork. A pressure is held at specific points that are triggered by the pressure. The pressure is held for a prolonged amount of time and the pain decreases as the pressure is held. The referral pain and trigger points can be greatly reduced with this treatment.
